The Alain Laplante Team advertising campaign gets a lot of talk

The Alain Laplante Team election campaign is the subject of many conversations in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and even across Quebec. Candidate for mayor Alain Laplante is very happy to see it. The concept of the campaign exploits word games with the word mayor, such as Mayor's Heart, Mayor Nature, Mayor and Pair and Father and Mayor.

Images of the advertising concept were broadcasted and commented on the Facebook page of the new show In Salvail V channel mode, on the blog Clique du plateau, on the program Hello Hello and even by our national Infoman, Jean-René Dufort .

For his first election experience, the designer of the advertising campaign, Mr. François Ménard, can declare mission accomplished. The challenge was to demonstrate how much the Team Alain Laplante differs from other teams in his ideas and values. To achieve this, the order was to get out of the usual codes of political advertising.

"We are used to seeing the same type of election campaign after election. Alain Laplante wanted a different approach. For him, it was even an advantage that I have never done political campaign before. Team Alain Laplante embodies a new way of doing things, his image had to be different. Each ad serves as an excuse to talk about the team's ideas and values. It's a campaign tailor-made for them " explains François Ménard. With this bold campaign, the intention is also to reach a wider audience with less interest in politics.

About the designer

A native and resident of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, it was in 1995 that François Ménard launched his advertising career. At the time, he used the Quebec Egg Producers' Federation as an advertising and promotion advisor to use the referendum campaign to capture the imagination of Quebeckers.

The hens have their own referendum! They proclaimed loudly YES for eggs at breakfast and NO for breakfast without eggs! This campaign had earned, among others, the Rooster of the public, prize awarded by the Advertising Club of Montreal. In the following four years, egg advertising garnered another 14 awards and nominations at provincial, national and international levels.

Since 1999, François Ménard has been running the advertising agency TIC TAC TOE Communication.
